Christmas Celebrations

The holiday season is here, and what better way to celebrate than with flavours that warm the heart and bring everyone together? At Maggi, we believe Christmas isn’t just about gifts under the tree—it’s about sharing delicious moments around the table. From cozy curries to creative twists on your snacks and nibbles, we’ve got recipes that will make your celebrations extra tasty and stress-free.

So grab your apron, sprinkle in some cheer, and let’s make this Christmas a feast to remember—Maggi style!

1. Pre-Chop and Freeze Veggies

  • Chop carrots, parsnips, and onions a few days before and freeze them in zip-lock bags. This saves time on Christmas Day and reduces mess.

2. Use Slow Cookers or Air Fryers for Side Dishes

  • Mashed potatoes, mulled wine, or even stuffing can be kept warm in a slow cooker. Your air fryer is your friend too for extra crispy potatoes or roasted veg.  This frees up oven space and keeps everything hot.

3. Make Gravy Ahead

  • Prepare gravy a day or two before using stock and freeze it. On the day, just reheat and add the turkey drippings for extra flavour.

4. Go for a cold starter

  • Prep your first course the day before and throw into the fridge so you’re not stuck in the kitchen on the big day!

5. Look for make-ahead puds

  • Our friends over at Carnation have a tonne of recipes that you can make in advance – or look out for their sweet gift ideas for a hand made treat.

6. Invest in a food probe

  • Want a succulent turkey? Don’t leave it to chance, make sure that its cooked to perfection by checking that the core reaches 74˚C.  Don’t forget to let the meat rest to ensure a tender and juicy texture.

7. Pre-Batch Cocktails

  • Mix festive cocktails in jugs the night before (check out our Greench cocktail!). Guests can self-serve, saving you time.

8. Wrap Roasting Trays in Foil

  • Line trays with foil before roasting meat or veg. After cooking, just peel off the foil—no scrubbing required.

9. Don’t forget the curry ingredients

  • Christmas dinner is a much-awaited treat but the curry on Boxing Day for us is not to be missed (check out our recipe below). Don’t forget to get the ingredients for it on your Christmas food shop!

10. Make a “Snack Station”

  • Set up a grazing board with cheese, crackers, nuts, and fruit early in the day. Keeps guests happy while you finish cooking.
